June 15, 2016

LOUISVILLE, KY, June 3, 2016 – Village Green, one of the nation’s largest privately held luxury apartment owner and operators, announced that the brand new rooftop swimming pool is nearing completion. Padgett, Inc. recently used a 350 ton crane – one of the largest in Kentucky - to lift and pour 65 yards of concrete 275 feet in the air. The operation took 12.5 hours.
Adam Jensen, Project Manager for Brinkmann Constructors said of Padgett, “They put in months of planning for this one day task, which is a huge milestone in our project.  At times, it seemed that ‘crane-day’ would be a monumental feat, but yesterday went-off without a hitch.”

Village Green said the brand new rooftop swimming pool, 29th floor Sky Park and Sky Club will open this summer. Other improvements include a more pronounced modern entry, updated street and property landscaping, new façade lighting from the ground and roof, and restoration of the original blue color.
When built in 1963, the 29 story building was the tallest in Louisville. The top floor will be converted to a new Sky Club with gourmet kitchen, fireplace, TVs, flexible lounge seating and an outdoor terrace with dining and grilling station. The club will share the top floor with a new professional fitness center that also has an outdoor exercise terrace. Above these will be a rooftop Sky Park with swimming pool, sun deck, Zen space, fire pit, outdoor kitchen and bar, outdoor TVs, and flexible lounge seating – all with panoramic views of Louisville.

Other amenities being added are pocket rotunda entry; lobby and conference room; theater; business center; café/restaurant space with lobby access and indoor/outdoor seating; and personal concierge services. The community will consist of studio, convertible, one and two bedroom apartments and penthouses. Apartment upgrades include: kitchen islands with granite counter-tops and three different cabinet and appliance options; bathrooms with rain shower heads; brand-new custom closets; and wood flooring and Berber carpet. Penthouses will have condominium quality finishes with floor to ceiling glass windows. The building will also provide corporate/short-term furnished rentals through V-Suites.
